KIDS

i was recently hooked up with a copy of KIDS which i watched for the millionth time a couple of nights ago. it's crazy that 'Casper' (Justin Pierce) and Harold Hunter both have died given the movies theme. i believe i was in 6th or 7th grade when the movie came out and the films message was supposed to be about AIDS awareness but the way i took it was a message that being a hood was really acceptable, haha. the movie brings back so many memories of growing up and is a trip to watch.

this brings me into the next subject - Harold Hunter Day II. HH Day 2 will be held on Saturday, May 17th in New York, obviously. Zoo York, The HH Foundation, Red Bull, SHUT, Acapulco Gold, Frank 151, DQM, Supreme, UXA, Off Bowery, Woodward Skate Camp, and many others are sponsoring the day which will first start as 'The Harold Hunter Skate Jam' to be held at the Manhattan Bridge Skate Park from 12pm-6pm and yes, there will be a 'mega' product toss. there will be music by DJ Pete Rock, Vinnie Ponte, and Neil Nice.

that same night will play host to a party - 'The Harold Hunter Party' at 8pm-12am at KCDC. obviously you must be 21 and over. KCDC is in Williamsburg and will feature an open bar, live music, and installation by Cinik, and a slide-show of pictures of Harold by photographer and friend of Harold's - Giovanni Reda.
