Job Description
Jr Level Developer

Famous Stars and Straps located in Ontario, CA is seeking an experienced Jr Level Developer.

2-3 years apparel experience.
Applicant must have the ability to take direction from the Development Director and Development Manager.
Applicant must have a firm grip on development knowledge (construction, fabrics, and techniques).

Computer Skills:

• To perform the job successfully, an individual should be at the following levels for the below software programs:
- Intermediate – Word, Excel
- Beginning to Intermediate to Advanced – Illustrator 10, CS, CS2
- Beginning to Intermediate – Mac OSX, Panther, Etc
• Monitor and maintain the development communication with vendors each day, style by style.
• Create and maintain style matrix and tech packs for initial development and final, production handover.
• Interpret design comments and add to matrix/tech pack.
• Monitor fabric development.
• Styling & fit comments during development.
• Maintenance of season’s products presentation pages (in conjunction with designers).
• Work with the Director of Production to properly build the vendor matrix.
• Manage and monitor vendor communication for each style throughout the development cycle.
• Manage and maintain the sample production cycle to secure on time sample delivery.
• Manage and ultimately approve the tech packs and matrices that are being passed on to vendors and then handed off to production.

Responsibilities:

• Stay in tune with the needs of Famous’ market & customer base.
• Stay up on the competition’s product.
• Stay in tune with the rules & regulations that go along with the product of our production.
• Be prepared for potential travel to work on seasonal development with vendors (international and domestic).
• Be prepared for potential travel to attend sales meetings and select tradeshows.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of: tech packs, matrices, margin reports, and seasonal buy plans.
• Reports to the Development/Sourcing Manager.
