SUNDAY AFTERNOON

today i spent my Sunday with my girlfriend, my sister, and her husband at the Orange County Fair before the Dropkick Murphy's show that we had free tickets to. this was my 2nd time going but my sister and her husband wanted to get together and also wanted to go to the fair. brought my trusty camera and fisheye lens along. enjoy the pictures:


this year we chose not to ride any of the rides because they are completely janky and unsafe.


again - we spent $40 on playing games and again i won my girlfriend 3 stuffed animals that i am sure only cost pennies to make.


one of the coolest things we saw at the fair was these sand castle types of sculptures. the thing was huge and was totally made of sand! there was a front and 2 sides to this sculpture and i guess the people were sculpting it live. i chose to take a picture of the back because it wasn't quite finished yet and i wanted to show the process of the sculpt. crazy shit.


here are the 2 complimentary tickets i scored to the Dropkick Murphy's show. the other bands that were on the bill were Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and The Vandals. Jimmy Kimmel came out for a Mighty Mighty Bosstones song and played bass clarinet.


i didn't think i was going to be able to bring my camera in so i had to take a picture of the stage with my BlackBerry camera. the picture was taken while The Vandals were playing. Warren Fitzgerald is fucking hilarious.



...and finally i kept seeing different chicks eating these huge ass corn dogs all throughout the show. it was only women who chose to eat these things. these corn dogs resembled - well, you can guess...

...and that is how i spent my Sunday afternoon.
